Call for Nominations for Fellow, Biomaterials Science and Engineering to be Awarded in the 2024 Daegu World Congress in Biomaterials(FBSE)

Introduction

At the 2018 business meeting of the International Union of Societies for Biomaterials Science and Engineering (IUSBSE), the Fellows were given the right to nominate up to three outstanding scientists and/or engineers for Fellow status, who are from areas not currently represented by any of the Societies that are members of the IUSBSE. This was done for the first in 2020 for the Glasgow online World Biomaterials Congress. The Steering Committee of the International College of Fellows is now soliciting these nominations from all current Fellows for the 2024 Daegu World Congress on Biomaterials to be held in May.

As you know, the honorary status of “Fellow, Biomaterials Science and Engineering” (FBSE) was established in April 1992. Fellows are recognized for a status of excellent professional standing and high achievements in the field of biomaterials science and engineering.

New Fellows are announced and recognized at World Biomaterials Congresses.

The duly nominated, approved, confirmed, and installed Fellow has the right to carry the letters FBSE. These letters indicate the national recognition and international respect of his/her comprehension of professional issues and accomplishments as a scientist or engineer in the field of biomaterials science and engineering.

The Fellow status is awarded for life.

Nomination Process and Guidelines

Candidates for Fellow status should:

– Have made very important and internationally recognized scientific or professional contributions to the field of biomaterials science and engineering.

– Have a leadership position in the field of biomaterials science and engineering.

– Demonstrate continuous productivity in biomaterials research, development, education, or administration.

All nominations shall be kept confidential. Approved candidates will be inducted at a Ceremony during the World Biomaterials Congress.
