He has 5 patents and patent applications, 197 SCI journal papers, supervised 40+ M.Sc. and 20+ Ph.D. students, was cited 3538 times and has a H-index of 37 (web of science)

Areas of research interest:

I am interested in biodegradable natural and synthetic polymers such as collagen, gelatine,  hyaluronic acid, polyhydroxyalkanoates and polylactic acid homo and copolymers.  Tissue engineering, cell-material interactions, modifications of polymeric surfaces at micro and nano level,  additive manufacturing are the topics I am more interested in the recent years. As tissue engineering targets corneal stroma, bone, meniscus, nerve guides, and skin models are the most important applications
